Terroir Exhibition - 2023 - France

Running parallel to a solo exhibition of Ann Stephens’ work, this show was exhibited within the medieval town of Monflanquin, S.W. France.

The theme of “terroir” is based on the interaction of three main components:

1. The physical environment (climate, topography, geology, and pédologies).
2. The biological material (rootstock, variety, and soil biodiversity).
3. The cultural (tradition), social-economic, and even political.

Each member of Seed Sisters responded to the same starting point - Terroir - each creating four pieces of the same uniform size - 12” x 12” square.
